Our Capacity-Building was divided into three stages: preparation sessions, a transnational workshop and follow-up sessions. Above all, with this Work Package we wanted to discover the best strategies for promoting active citizenship among young people, consolidate the skills learned so far throughout the project and how to mobilize young people and young adults on the issues we have been working on since January 2022.
The more important and noble stage of this Work Package was the Transnational Workshop, which took place in Aveiro between April 24 and 26. It was an intensive three days of work with 113 young people of various nationalities from the four countries involved in the project. In this first mobility of Poetry of Resistance, we divided the three days of activities into different moments, with different activities so that everyone could feel welcomed, understood and, above all, so that we had a crescendo that made us understand the importance of young people’s participation in society.
One of the most anticipated outcomes of the Capacity-Building was our booklet. You can consult it here, understand what we did throughout the days, and you will also find a manual of best practices for promoting active citizenship among young people!
In short, it was very rewarding for us to be able to work for Capacity-Building. There are moments that have left us very moved throughout the project, but this work package had the power to leave us amazed at everything we have been building. Above all, it’s beautiful to see the European friendships we’ve built, to see the concern that the young people who are part of the project have shown for the issues and to realize that if we make an effort, we can make the memory of our ancestors come true. If there’s one good thing about mobility, it’s being able to live together, side by side, as one. We can do a lot of work online, but there’s nothing like doing all the work together, as one big family.
